Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure designed to reshape or reduce the size of the labia minora (the inner vaginal lips), and in some cases the labia majora (the outer vaginal lips). The procedure is tailored to each individual and may be performed for functional reasons, cosmetic preferences, or both.
Some people choose labiaplasty because enlarged or asymmetrical labia can cause discomfort during exercise, cycling, sexual activity, or when wearing certain clothing. Others seek treatment to improve symmetry or achieve a more proportionate appearance.
Dr Ardeshir Vahidi takes a personalised approach to every procedure, ensuring that the surgery is carefully planned to suit your anatomy, concerns and desired outcome. The aim is to create a natural-looking result while preserving sensation and function.
Procedure Time
Labiaplasty typically takes 1–2 hours and is usually performed under local anaesthetic with sedation or general anaesthetic, depending on your individual requirements.
Recovery
Most patients return home the same day. Swelling and mild discomfort are expected during the first one to two weeks and gradually improve. Most people can return to desk-based work within 5–7 days, although strenuous exercise, cycling and sexual activity should be avoided for approximately 6 weeks to allow proper healing.
Results
As the swelling settles over several weeks, the final result becomes more apparent. Patients often experience improved comfort during daily activities and increased confidence in the appearance of the area.
