Procedure Time

Recovery

Following surgery, a compression garment is worn to support healing and minimise swelling. Surgical drains may be used for the first few days, depending on the procedure performed.

Most patients experience swelling, bruising and mild discomfort during the first 1–2 weeks. Office-based work can usually be resumed within 2–3 weeks, while strenuous exercise, heavy lifting and upper body workouts should be avoided for approximately 6 weeks.

Scars will continue to mature and fade over the following 12–18 months, and the chest contour will continue to refine as healing progresses.
